IAC BOYS BOWLING: WAVERLY'S CAMPBELL ROLLS 300 GAME IN SWEEP OF NOTRE DAME (2023-01-06)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Waverly freshman Tristan Campbell accomplished something few bowlers achieve Thursday afternoon, and something even fewer high school bowlers consider, when he rolled a 300 game to help the Wolverines to a sweep of Notre Dame in IAC Large School boys bowling action here at the Valley Bowling Center.
Senior Zach Vanderpool actually led the Wolverines with a 723 series on games of 277, 235, and 211, while Campbell’s 300 game capped a 663 series that started with games of 170, and 193.
Freshman Derek Johnson rolled a 593 series, including a 235 game, in the sweep, while senior Landyn Gunderson had a 569, including a 213, senior Michael Cole added a 547, and junior Trenton Sindoni tacked on a 540.
Junior Carter Hayes rolled a 630 in reserve for the Wolverines, rolling games of 203, 182 and 245.
Conner Ryan led Notre Dame with a 564.
Waverly, now 29-3, hosts Lansing Tuesday.
