STAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY RALLIES FROM DOWN 2-0; FALLS TO SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY IN FIVE SETS (24 PHOTOS) (2024-10-08)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Waverly battled back from a 2-0 deficit, but couldn’t quite finish off the comeback in a five-set loss to Susquehanna Valley here Tuesday night in STAC volleyball action.
The Sabers won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-19, but Waverly answered with wins of 25-23 and 25-19.
Susquehanna Valley won the decisive fifth set, 15-7.
Lillie Kirk led Waverly with a triple-double — 13 points, 10 kills, and 23 digs, to go along with two blocks.
Addison Hunt had nine points and nine kills for the Wolverines, while Ava Heath had nine points, including three aces, six kills, and seven digs, and Brilynn Belles had six points, five kills, and a team-high 24 digs.
Maddy Olmsted had two points — both aces, 21 setter assists, and 13 digs for Waverly, while Emma Richards-Randall had two points, two kills, five assists, and seven digs, Adriana Presher added two points — both aces, and eight digs, and Lainey Teeter chipped in with five digs.
Waverly, now 2-8, returns to action Thursday at Chenango Forks.
