Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Wrestling — both boys and girls — takes center stage Saturday with both Athens teams in action at its Jarvis Tournament, while both Waverly teams and the Tioga girls are in action at the Stephens Classic and Stephens Scramble at Horseheads Middle School.

There are also a handful of basketball games, and Athens will be in action at the season-opening Bloomsburg Swimming & Diving Invite.

WRESTLING
Athens HOSTS Jarvis Memorial Tournament, 8 a.m.: Athens will host both a boys and girls tournament — boys in the new gym, and girls in the old gym.

Waverly at Stephens Duals Classic,10 a.m. @ Horseheads M.S.: After posting a 3-0 mark on Friday night, Waverly will open action Saturday morning against Horseheads-2, then will face Middletown-2, Middletown, and West Genesee.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Waverly, Tioga at Bea Stephens Scramble, 2 p.m. @ Horseheads: The field includes Waverly, Tioga and Horseheads, as well as S-VE, Corning, Sidney, Harpursville, Canister, Hornell, Harpursville, Penfield, Homer, Dundee, and Northern Adirondack.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Mifflinburg Tip-Off Tournament
Sayre (0-1) vs. Montoursville: The Redskins will square off with Montoursville in the consolation game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Elmira College Tip-Off Classic
Waverly (1-1) vs. Ithaca (0-0), 2 p.m.: The Wolverines split a pair of games at the Baldwinsville Tip-Off Tournament last weekend.

Central Mountain Tip-Off Tournament
Athens (0-2) vs. TBD, 5:30 p.m.: The Wildcats will face the loser of Friday night's Central Mountain-Central Martinsburg game in the consolation game.

Sibley Tournament
Tioga (0-1) vs. Candor (0-1), 1 p.m. @ Owego H.S.: The Tigers are coming off a 49-21 loss to Owego in the opening round, while the Coyotes dropped a 73-48 decision to Moravia.

BOYS & GIRLS SWIMMING
Athens at Bloomsburg Invite, 11 a.m.
