NTL BASEBALL: MILLVILLE TAKES CONTROL EARLY IN 12-1 WIN OVER SAYRE (April 3, 2026)Valley Sports ReportMILLVILLE — Millville took control immediately with nine runs in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 12-1 five-inning win over Sayre here Friday afternoon in non-league baseball action.
The Quakers used five base on balls and two hit batsmen, along with two base hits, to take a 9-0 lead after the opening inning.
Millville added a run in the second inning, and two more in the third, and led 12-0 after four innings.
After a one-out walk to sophomore Riley McGaughey, and a two-out single by junior Declan Barry, the Redskins got on the board on an error to close the gap to 12-1, but the next batter popped out and Millville won via the 10-run rule,
Barry's fifth-inning single was Sayre's only hit in the contest.
Junior Shaine Strickland had the Redskins' best turn on the mound, allowing one hit and striking out one in 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief.
Sayre, now 1-4, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Athens.
