PIAA BOYS SWIMMING: SAYRE'S McCLELLAND EARNS WILDCARD IN 100 FREE - WILL PULL DOUBLE-DUTY AT STATES (2019-03-04)

LEWISBURG - Sayre senior Josh McClelland will be pulling double-duty at the PIAA Swimming & Diving Championships here at Bucknell University after earning a wild-card entry in the 100-yard freestyle.

McClelland, who won a District 4 title in the 50-yard freestyle, finished second in the 100 free, but will join the field at States, thanks to having one of the 16 fastest non-automatic qualifying times in the state.

While the seeds won't become official until Monday or Tuesday, McClelland's 21.92 in the 50-yard freestyle is currently the 10th-fastest time on the board.

In the 100 free, McClelland's time of 48.27 ranked among the fastest wild-card entries. He is currently the 14th-fastest in the event.

The 50-yard freestyle preliminaries are slated for March 13 between 10:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The finals are slated for 7 p.m. that night.

The 100-yard freestyle preliminaries are slated for March 14 between 10:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The finals are slated for 8:50 p.m. that night.
