MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Waverly’s participation in the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday produced several top 10 finishes in Division II competition.
Isaac Chandler placed third in the pole vault, clearing 14-6, and eighth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds.
The quartet of Elizabeth Fritzen, Sheridan Talada, Olivia Nittinger and Cora Smith finished sixth in the 4x800 relay while establishing a new school record of 9:45.54. The previous record was 9:49.97.
Melina Ortiz took eight in the 400 in 1:00.48.
Smith was also 10th in the 3,000 in 10:25.45.
Also competing for the Wolverines were Dylan Ward in the 800 and Collin Wright in the 3,000 steeplechase.
