Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The fall season is winding down, but the remaining events are big ones as Waverly and Tioga football play for Section IV titles, and a pair of Waverly runners compete at the state cross-country meet.
Next week, Waverly will send seven girls to the New York State Swimming & Diving Championships.
There are just three events on this week's docket.
FRIDAY (1)
• Waverly takes on Owego, which upset Maine-Endwell in the semifinals, in the Section IV, Class B championship football game at Susquehanna Valley H.S. in an 8 p.m. kickoff.
SATURDAY (2)
• Waverly junior Chase Hine and sophomore Hayden Montanye will run at the New York State, Class C Boys Cross-Country Championships at Queensbury High School.
• Tioga squares off with Trumansburg, which upset Delhi in the semifinals, in the Section IV, Class D championship football game at Susquehanna Valley H.S. in a 3 p.m. kickoff.
