SAYRE'S KITTLE, HUGHEY EACH QUAD-WINNERS

ATHENS - Both teams won six events, but Athens used its superior depth to pull out a 102-66 win over Sayre here Wednesday evening in NTL girls swimming action.Freshman Brooke Kopatz was the Lady Wildcats' lone double-winner, while senior Katie Felt, junior Lauren Neville, sophomore Alyson Rockwell and freshman Taylor Walker each won one event.
Senior Kayla Kittle and junior Kayla Hughey both won four events for the Lady Redskins, while junior Jillian Shay was a triple-winner, and seniors Emily Latimer and Claire Shaffer were both double-winners.
Kopatz won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:18.67, while Shay was second in 2:20.64, and Athens sophomore Madison Derrig was third in 2:30.77.
Kopatz led a sweep in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:17.14, while freshman Raven McCarthy-Gardner was second in 1:30.32, and Lindane was third in 1:43.19.
Neville won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:45.58, while Athens junior Christina Bard was second in 3:00.45, and Lattimer was third in 3:05.48.
Rockwell won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:05.58, while Shaffer was second in 1:07.3, and Derrig was third in 1:08.48.
Felt led a sweep in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 7:17.29, while senior Alyssa Lindane was second in 7:26.22, and freshman Kaylee Grazul was third in 7:50.09.
Walker won the 1-meter diving competition with 140.6 points
The Lady Redskins won all three relays, and Kittle, Hughey and Shay swam on all three.
Hughey, Kittle and Shay teamed with Shaffer to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:54.35. The same foursome won the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:20.87.
Hughey, Kittle, and Shay, teamed with Lattimer to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:14.53.
Kittle won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:10.74, while Neville was second in 1:11.25, and McCarthy-Gardner was third in 1:28.09.
Hughey won the 50-yard freestyle in 28.82 seconds, while Rockwell was second in 29.27 seconds, and Shaffer was third in 29.87 seconds.
Lattimer won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:21.72, while Sayre senior Jasmine Fairlie was second in 1:27.16, and Bard was third in 1:29.97.
Athens and Sayre will both be in action this weekend at the Williamsport Invite, and will both swim at the NTL Championships Tuesday at Sayre.
