ATHENS - Athens won 9 of 12 events to top an under-manned Sayre, 100-33, here Wednesday evening in NTL boys swimming action.

Senior Trent Neville and sophomore Mason Henderson each won four events to lead the Wildcats, while senior Robert Kisner was a triple-winner, and sophomore Zac Gowin and freshman Kaden Gorsline were double-winners.

Senior Josh McClelland was a double-winner for the Redskins, and senior Joe Stermer logged their other win.

Athens won all three relays, and Neville and Henderson swam on all three.

Neville, Henderson and Kisner teamed with sophomore Joe Toscano to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:01.85, and the same trio teamed with Gorsline to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:49.52.

Neville and Henderson also teamed with Gowin and freshman Reuven Gifeisman to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:21.79

Neville won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:34.37, while Henderson won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.4, and Sayre senior Matt Beers was second in 1:11.9.

Kisner won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:23.46, and Athens sophomore Carter Jones was second in 1:23.79, while Gowin won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:08.36.

Gorsline won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:16.12, while Beers was second in 1:18.55, and Toscano was third in 1:21.05.

Athens freshman Kyle Anthony won the 1-meter diving competition with 184.05, edging Gorsline, who tallied 181.15 points.

McClelland won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:54.71, while Gowin was second in 2:22.56, and Toscano was third in 3:23.31.

McClelland also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.25 seconds, while Neville was second in 58.14 seconds, and Gifeisman was third at 1:05.24.

Stermer won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.92 seconds, while Anthony was second in 27.41 seconds, and Jones was third in 32.22 seconds.

Athens and Sayre will both be in action this weekend at the Williamsport Invite, and will both swim at the NTL Championships Tuesday at Sayre.
