ATHENS LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): ATHENS ANIMAL HOSPITAL HOLDS OFF BISHOP'S HARDWARE, 10-8 (2019-05-09)

ATHENS — Athens Animal Hospital jumped out to a 10-2 lead over Bishop’s Hardware, then held on for a 10-8 win here Wednesday night in Athens Little League Minors Division baseball action.

AAH only managed two hits, but took advantage of 16 base on balls in the win.

Sam Cheresnowsky doubled, scored one run, and had two RBI, and Kamdyn Wheeler singled and scored two runs to account for AAH’s hits, while Nicholas Robbins and Theron May each scored one run and drove in one run, and Lucas Greninger, Gavin Lambert, Seth Krissler, Brycen Wood, and Trent Williams each crossed the plate once. Brian Erb had one RBI.

Bishop’s Hardware had three hits in the loss.

Kade Rowe stroked a pair of singles and had two RBI, and Joe Dickerson singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, while Shea Davidson scored two runs and drove in one run, Brendan Clark, Troy Chilson, Matthew Rosette-Cabrera, and Hayden Bartlow, and Jacob Shores and Alex Arcesi each had one RBI.

Cheresnowsky (three strikeouts) and Robbins shared the pitching duties for AAH, and combined for five strikeouts.

Dickerson (four strikeouts), Chilson, and Davidson (four) shared the pitching chores for Bishop’s and combined for eight strikeouts.
