NTL GIRLS SOCCER: HANEY SCORES FIVE GOALS; SAYRE GIRLS FALL AT WILLIAMSON, 8-7 (2019-10-07)

TIOGA JUNCTION, Pa. "" Sayre sophomore Rozlyn Haney scored five goals, but a Claire Miller score with 2:35 remaining in the contest lifted Williamson to a wild 8-7 win here Monday afternoon in NTL girls soccer action.

"It was a tough, physical game," said Sayre coach Tracy Mennig. "The girls fought hard, but couldn't quite come back from starting too flat."

Miller and Chelsea Hungerford scored in the first seven minutes of the gave to give the Lady Warriors a 2-0 lead, but Haney netted a natural hat trick in a seven-minute span to put Sayre ahead 3-2 with 11:18 remaining in the first half.

Hungerford scored with 8:23 remaining in the half to tie the game, and Miller scored four minutes later to give Williamson a 4-3 lead, which it carried into the intermission.

Sayre's Courtney Sindoni scored just 82 seconds into the second half to tie the game, but Miller netted a pair of goals five minutes apart to give the Lady Warriors a 6-4 lead.

Miller added another goal with 24:10 remaining in the game to make it 7-4, but Haney scored a pair of goals, sandwiched around an Abby Moliski score on a penalty kick to tie the game at 7-7 with 2:44 left in the contest.

Less than a minute later, Miller scored her sixth goal of the game off a rebound of her own penalty kick that Sayre keeper Adrianna Barnhart stopped, but couldn't control.

Williamson had a 19-10 advantage in shots-on-goal, and both teams had three corner kicks.

Barnhart recorded 11 saves in net for the Lady Redskins.

Sindoni was credited with two assists for Sayre, while Moliski and Maddie LaManna each had one.

Sayre, now 1-12, returns to action Tuesday at Muncy.
