Valley Sports ReportWELLSBORO "" The Athens girls swept the top five spots in wins over Wyalusing and Wellsboro here Tuesday afternoon in NTL girls cross country action. The Athens boys also earned a pair of wins.
The Lady Wildcats picked up 15-50 win over over incomplete Wellsboro and Wyalusing teams.
Sara Bronson won the event in 12:58, while Thea Bentley was second in 13:24, Cailyn Conklin was third in 13:28, Janae Harkins finished fourth in 13:30, and Emily Henderson was fifth in 13:50.
Neena Sanders finished 13th in 20:43.
BOYS
Peter Jones and Connor Mosher paced Athens' to a pair wins in the junior high boys race Tuesday.
Athens edged Wylausing 27-30, and won a 15-50 decision over an incomplete Wellsboro.
Jones finished second in a time of 12:02, and Mosher was fourth in a time of 12:42, while Zachariah Earls was seventh in 13:51, Aiden Oldroyd was ninth in 14:16, and Pierce Oldroyd was 10th in 14:22.
Ryan Gorman finished 13th in 15:43 for the junior Wildcats, while Gehrig Thurston was 15th in 17:04, and Lohith Kinthala was 16th in 18:40.
