NEWFIELD —  Waverly started fast, then fought off a pesky Newfield squad in a sweep here Friday night in NTL volleyball action.

The Lady Wolverines, now 9-4, won by scores of 25-9, 25-19, and 25-20.

Senior Paige Lewis led Waverly with 15 service points, including six aces, and six kills, while junior Maddy Goodwin had 13 points and seven kills, junior Sidney Tomasso added nine points, including four aces, and senior Chloe Croft doled out 24 setter assists.

Senior Adrianah Clinton registered 10 kills, while senior Morgan Adams added eight kills, and sophomore Aryan Peters recorded nine saves.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Tioga.

JV: Waverly (8-5) swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-19 and 25-4.

Aubrey Ennis led Waverly with 16 points, including four aces, , while Kennedy Herriman had eight points and five assists, Taylor Hall had eight points, including five aces, and Michaela Lauper added seven points, including four aces.
