BENTON — Zac Lyons and James Dilossi scored two goals apiece to lead Benton to an 8-1 win over Sayre here Tuesday afternoon in non-league boys soccer action.

Fernando Cruz scored 6 1/2 minutes into the game to give Benton a 1-0 lead, and Cole Shaffer scored 9 1/2 minutes later to make it 2-0.

Lyons scored two goals before the intermission to extend the lead to 4-0.

Dilossi scored the first two goals of the second half to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead with 18:11 remaining in the contest.

With Benton leading 8-0, senior Nick Park scored his first goal of the season to put Sayre on the board with 6:55 left in the game. Sophomore Mason Hughey was credited with an assist.

Benton had a 28-2 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.

Cole Gelbutis recorded 19 saves in net for the Redskins.

Sayre, now 3-12-1, hosts North Penn-Liberty Thursday.
