SAYRE — Towanda won a pair of tightly-contested sets on its way to a sweep of Sayre here Thursday night in NTL volleyball action.

Towanda won the first two sets by identical scores of 25-21, then closed out the match with a 25-11 win in the third set.

DaLaine Pepper led Towanda with 12 service points, 22 setter assists, and 12 digs, while Shelby Johnson had eight points, five kills, one block, and seven digs, Blaze Wood had five points, four kills and two assists, Paige Manchester added five points, 10 kills, five blocks, and five digs, and Madigan Allen recorded four points, 11 kills, two blocks, and eight digs.

Senior Erika Wells led Sayre with 11 service points and two kills, while senior Julia Boyle handed out 14 setter assists, senior Lexi Post recorded 13 digs, junior Gabbi Randall and sophomore Gianna Quatrini each registered five kills, and senior Emily Brion chipped in with three digs.

Sayre, now 3-12, hosts Williamson Thursday.

JV: Towanda swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-23 and 25-5.
