WESTFIELD, Pa. — Cowanesque Valley posted a sweep of Sayre here Thursday night in NTL volleyball action, but the young Lady Redskins made them work for it.

The Lady Indians won by scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-23.

"My girls worked hard tonight, however, I know they can work harder,” said first-year coach Alia Post. "I could see they were getting tired near the end, but that’s when they played their hardest and brought the energy.

“We just need to have that much energy at the beginning of the game, to start off strong, and then end with a win,” she added.

Elizabeth Boyle led Sayre with eight setter assists, and three service aces, while Alexis Frisbie had nine digs, Gabbi Randall registered seven kills and one block, and Gianna Quattrini added three kills and two aces.

Aliyah Rawlings had three kills for the Lady Redskins, and Emma Smith and Rachel Vandermark each chipped in with two digs.

Sayre, now 0-7, hosts Williamson Tuesday.
