
LeRAYSVILLE "" Kayleigh Thoman had a career-high five goals to lead NEB to a 12-0 win over Sayre here Saturday morning in NTL girls soccer action.
The two teams played 10-on-10 due to depleted rosters.
"It was another tough game without our injured starters," said Mennig, in reference to five absent starters. "But the NEB coach was accommodating and we played 10-v-10.
"We played a much better second half," added Mennig. "I am proud of their sportsmanship and integrity on the field time after time."
Thoman added two assists while Keirra Thoman added a hat trick. Kelsie Cowles and Melanie Shumway had two goals a piece as well.
Cowles and Alena Beebe chipped in with two assists each while Shumway had one.
NEB had a 13-0 edge in corner kicks and a 30–3 edge in shots.
Sayre's Daija Foux recorded 18 saves in net, while NEB keeper Ciana Frisbie had three.
Sayre, now 1-7, returns to action Monday at North Penn-Mansfield.
