WAVERLY — Sophomores Zach Vanderpool and Ashton Pritchard rolled 600 series to lead Waverly in a sweep of Notre Dame here Thursday night in a “virtual” IAC Large School Division boys bowling match.

The Wolverines, now 13-3, rolled a team series of 2,785 at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Crusaders shot a 2,221 series at Rossi Lanes.

Waverly won the first game 837-769, but picked up the pace, winning the next two by scores of 912-749, and 1,036-703.

Vanderpool banged out games of 196, 245, and 202 for a match-high 643 series, while Pritchard shot games of 184, 161, and 263 for a 608 series.

Sophomore Landyn Gunderson shot a 516 series for the Wolverines, while senior Matt Mauersberg had a 505, senior Richard Stevens added a 485, and sophomore Ethan Roberts tacked on a 457.

Ashton Colonio led Notre Dame with a 513 series, and Cody Gonzalez had a 501.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday in a “virtual” match against Newark Valley.
