COLLEGE GOLF: TIOGA GRAD TAYLOR (METHODIST) FINISHES FOURTH AT FLYERS SPRING CLASSIC (2021-04-07)

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - Tioga grad Sam Taylor, a freshman on the Methodist University men's golf team, finished tied for fourth here at the Flyers Spring Classic March 29-30.

Taylor, playing on the Methodist "C" team, shot matching rounds of 74 for a two-day tally of 148 on the 6,684-yard, par-72 Longleaf Golf Curse. He tied Methodist teammate Aiden Spampinato (72-76), who was playing for the "B" team.

Methodist's Cam Capuzzo, playing for "C" team, won low-medal honors with a two-day total of 139 on rounds of 69 and 70.

The Methodist "B" team won the team title, edging the "C" team by two strokes. Sandhills Community College finished third 21 strokes off the lead, while South Carolina-Sumter was fourth 62 strokes back, and Davidson County CC was fifth 91 strokes back.
