Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY "" Aside from a pair of football games, this is the final week of the "fall sports" season in New York, while the spring season South of the Border rolls on with baseball, softball, and track & field.
There are 31 events on this week's docket, including nine on Monday and seven on Wednesday and Friday.
The following are some, not all, of the week's events:
MONDAY (9)
"¢ Sayre baseball and softball host NTL Small School rival Williamson.
"¢ The Waverly girls wrap up the 2021 season at home on the soccer pitch at Memorial Stadium against Notre Dame.
"¢ The Waverly girls swim team hosts Watkins Glen in its last home meet of the abbreviated season.
"¢ The Tioga field hockey team hosts Marathon.
TUESDAY (5)
"¢ The Waverly boys host Notre Dame on the soccer pitch at Memorial Stadium in their final home game of the season.
"¢ Waverly volleyball hosts Horseheads in a non-league match.
WEDNESDAY (7)
"¢ Waverly volleyball hosts Elmira in its final match of the season.
THURSDAY (1)
"¢ The Waverly boys soccer team wraps up the 2021 season at O-M.
FRIDAY (7)
"¢ Waverly football is on the road at Groton.
"¢ The Sayre baseball and softball teams host Towanda at Riverfront Park.
"¢ The Tioga girls soccer team plays it final match of the season at home, under the lights, at Haggerty Field.
"¢ The Waverly and Tioga cross country teams are in action at the Marathon Invitational.
"¢ The Sayre track & field teams host North Penn-Mansfield.
SATURDAY (2)
"¢ Tioga football travels to Newark Valley with the unofficial "Tioga County Championship" on the line.
"¢ Tioga field hockey finishes off the 2021 campaign at Owego.
