WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: WAVERLY GRAD TOMASSO SCORES 11 IN COLLEGIATE DEBUT AT ST. JOHN FISHER (2021-11-13)

ROCHESTER — Waverly grad Sidney Tomasso, a freshman on the St. John Fisher women’s basketball team, scored in double-figures in her collegiate debut to help the Lady Cardinals to a lopsided win over Hilbert College.

On Tuesday, Tomasso, who started and played 22 minutes, scored 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field, including a 3-for-5 performance from behind the 3-point arc. She also had two rebounds and two assists.

On Saturday, Tomasso, who started and played 23 minutes, scored nine points in a 76-69 win over Hamilton College. Tomasso knocked down another 3-pointer and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line. She also had four boards, four assists, and one blocked shot.

St. John Fisher, now 2-0, returns to action later this week in the Mark’s Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. The Lady Cardinals take on RIT Thursday, and the University of Rochester Saturday.
