CORTLAND — Freshman Harper Minaker and junior Kelsey Ward were each double-winners to pace Waverly’s efforts Friday here at the Winter Indoor Track & Field Classic at SUNY Cortland.
Minaker won the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:33.55, and Ward won the 600-meter run in a time of 1:58.72.
Minaker and Ward teamed with sophomore Allison Barrett, and freshman Kendal Shafer to finish first in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 5:10.03.
Freshman Haylie Davenport won the 1,500-meter race walk in a personal-best time of 10:09.67, and 8th-grader Emma Vanderhoof was second on 10:58.12.
Davenport, Minaker, freshman Kiley Stillman, and Vanderhoof teamed to finish third in the 800-meter relay in a time of 2:12.85.
Barrett finished third in the 55-meter dash in a personal-best 8.33 seconds, and freshman Kiley Stillman was fifth in a personal-best time of 8.51 seconds.
Shaffer finished fifth in the 300-meter dash in a personal-best 52.72 seconds, and Stillman was fifth in the high jump with a personal-best height of 4-feet, 4-inches.
Ward finished 10th in the long jump at 11-feet, 1-inch, while freshman Teigan Allen finished 14th in the shot put with a personal-best heave of 17-feet.
BOYS
Junior John Price finished fifth in the 300-meter dash in a time of 43.47 seconds.
Senior Gavin Schillmoeller finished seventh in the 1,000-meter run in a personal-best time of 3:08.68. He finished eighth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:31.89.
Waverly returns to action Saturday at the Section IV Classic.
