WAVERLY - Sophomore Rachel Houseknecht led the Lady Wolverines to a sweep of Owego here Tuesday in a rare non-league bowling match at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Waverly boys were swept by the Indians.
GIRLS
Waverly 4, Owego 0
Waverly opened with an 861-597 win over Owego in the opening game, then closed out the match with wins of 811-574 and 837-555 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,509 to 1,726.
Rachel Houseknecht rolled a 541 series on games of 183, 188, and 170, while freshman Serenity Conklin shot a 518, and junior Victoria Houseknecht had a 513.
Junior Shantilly Decker rolled a 474 in the sweep, while senior Sage Garrison added a 463, and 7th-grader Emily Houseknecht tacked on a 309.
Haley Stephens led Owego with a 485.
BOYS
Owego 4, Waverly 0
The Indians pulled out a 13-pin decision (1,006-993) in the fist game, then closed out the match with wins of 1,066-922, and 1,106-1,034 for a total-pinfall victory of 3,178 to 2,949.
William Waldron led Owego with a match-high 731 series on games of 216, 239, and 276, while Cole Dalton fired a 646 (207-206-233), and Connor Kotski shot a 640 (188-241-213).
Junior Zach Vanderpool led Waverly with a 674 series on games of 233, 256, and 185, and 8th-grader Tristan Campbell rolled a 640 on games of 192, 169, and 279.
Freshman Dom Wood had a 547 for the Wolverines, including games of 201 and 203, while junior Ashton Pritchard had a 543, including a 200 game, 8th-grader Derek Johnson added a 532, and sophomore Trenton Sindoni tacked on a 463.
Waverly returns to action Thursday at Watkins Glen.
