THE VALLEY — A Valley wrestling rivalry headlines Thursday action as Waverly hosts unbeaten Tioga, the state’s top-ranked Division 2 team, but there is plenty of other action on the docket as well.

Tioga (9-0 overall, 3-0) at Waverly (4-6, 2-1), 6 p.m.:
The Tigers, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 2, are coming off wins over Dryden (71-6) and Newark Valley (66-6) Wednesday night, while the Wolverines have been off since dropping a 39-36 decision at Newark Valley.

The Tigers can all but clinch the IAC Division 1 title with a win.

Athens (3-2, 3-1 NTL) at NP-Liberty (5-5, 2-2), 6 p.m. junior high start: The Wildcats are coming off a 51-21 loss to Canton Tuesday, while the Mountaineers topped CMVT 42-16, and fell to Danville 54-21.

The Redskins had just two wrestlers in the line-up Wednesday in a 78-0 loss at Canton, while Troy dropped a 42-38 decision at Wyalusing Tuesday.

Athens (6-2) at Troy (6-2), 6 p.m. JV start:
The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 42-20 win at Wyalusing Tuesday, while the Lady Trojans topped North Penn-Mansfield, 38-21.

Sayre (0-5) at Wyalusing (2-6), 6:30 p.m. (Varsity only): The Lady Redskins are coming off a 42-11 home loss to Williamson Friday, while the Lady Rams dropped a 42-20 decision to Athens.
