Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY - Tioga freshman Erin Luther made an instant impact on the softball diamond this spring helping the Lady Tigers to a division title, and a trip to the Section IV, Class C semifinals. She is the Valley Sports Report 2022 Girls "Newcomer of the Spring."
Featuring a quick and powerful stroke at the plate, Luther hit .388 (26 hits in 67 ABs) with two doubles, five triples, five home runs, 28 RBI, and 22 runs scored. She walked seven times for a .461 on-base percentage, and had a .791 slugging percentage for a 1.252 OPS.
In the circle, Luther posted a 2-3 record with 36 strikeouts in 25 innings, flashing potential for big things to come.

Sara Bronson, freshman — track & field, Athens: Bronson finished second in the 3,200-meter run in a school record time at the District 4 Championships. She placed seventh in the 1,600-meter run.
At the NTL Championships, Sara Bronson won the 1,600-meter run, placed second in the 800- and 3,200-meter runs, and was on the winning 3,200-meter relay.
RaeAnne Feeko, 8th-grader — softball, Tioga: A slick-fielding shortstop, Feeko was one of the best first-year varsity players in the region. She hit .397 (29 hits in 73 Abs) with four doubled, three triples, two home runs, 23 RBI, 33 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. She walked six times for an on-base percentage of .443, and had a .616 slugging percentage for a 1.059 OPS.
Defensively, she committed just three errors in 63 defensive chance for a .952 fielding percentage.
Lauren Gorsline, 7th-grader — track & field, Waverly: Gorsline finished second in the 1,500-meter run, and ran on a fourth-place 3,200-meter relay at the Section IV, Class C Championships. She was 10th in the 1,500-meter run at the State Qualifier.
At the IAC Championships, Gorsline was second in the 400-meter hurdles and the 1,500-meter run, and was part of the winning 3,200-meter relay team.
Jules Pack, freshman — softball, Athens: One of the best first-year hitters in the region, Pack hit .462 (31 hits in 67 ABs) with 19 runs scored, four doubles, 15 RBI, and two stolen bases.
Lea VanAllen, sophomore — softball, Waverly: A good defensive outfield, VanAllen hit .354 (17 hits in 48 ABs) with 10 runs scored, two doubles, 11 RBI, and five stolen bases.
Mira Kittle, 8th-grader — track & field, Waverly: Kittle was sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, and 10th in the 100-meter hurdles at the Section IV, Class C Championships. She was 13th in the 100-meter hurdles at the State Qualifier.
Kittle was second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 400 hurdles at the IAC Large School Divisional meet, and was third in the 100 hurdles and eighth in the 400 hurdles at the IAC Championships.
