OWEGO — Nichols-Tioga scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to rally past top-seeded Maine-Endwell here Wednesday evening in the winner’s bracket finals of the Owego 10U Baseball Tournament.

Maine-Endwell broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Tioga answered quickly with two runs in the top of the fourth inning to close the gap.

Jack Braunbeck walked to lead off the inning, and Kaylah Nelson followed with a single. With two outs and a runner at second base, Landon Carlucci and Jonah Palmer stroked back-to-back singles to trim the deficit to 3-1.

Tyler Haskins singled up the middle to make it 3-2.

In the top of the sixth, Carlucci and Palmer sparked the game-winning rally with consecutive singles. With one out, Ian Weaver ripped a two-RBI double to give Tioga a 4-3 lead. Evan Preshur capped the rally with an RBI single.

Carlucci singled twice and scored two runs, and Palmer singled twice, scored one run, and drove in one run to pace Tioga’s eight-hit attack, while Weaver doubled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Nelson singled and scored one run.

Haskins and Preshur each singled and drove in one run in the win.

Tioga will square off with the winner of the consolation bracket in the championship game Saturday at 9 a.m.

After dropping their first two games, Nichols-Tioga bounced back over the weekend with wins over Vestal Green (23-8) and Union-Endicott (13-0).

NTLL 23, Vestal Green 8

NTLL scored four runs in the top of the first inning, and cruised to a 23-8 win over Vestal Green Saturday to finish pool play at 1-2.

NTLL added five runs in the top of the second to up its lead to 9-2, and 14-6 after four innings.

Nichols-Tioga finished off the game with nine runs in the top of the sixth.

Carlucci was 4-for-4 with four runs scored, and four RBI, while Palmer had three hits, four runs scored, and one RBI, and Weaver tripled and doubled, scored one run, and had five RBI to pace NTLL’s 18-hit attack.

Preshur singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs in the win, while Mason Rink singled twice and scored four runs, Haskins doubled, scored two runs, and had two RBI, and Nelson singled, scored three runs, and knocked in one run.

Sam Wilson singled, scored one run, and had two RBI for NTLL, while Jacob Keene singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and Caleb Conden singled and knocked in one run.

NTLL 13, Union-Endicott 0
NIchols-Tioga plated 10 runs in the top of the third inning en route to a 13-0 four-inning win over Union-Endicott in the opening game of bracket play.

The win avenged a 5-3 loss to U-E in the tournament opener.

NTLL took the lead with three runs in the second, and blew the game wide open in the third inning.

Carlucci singled twice, scored one run, and knocked in two runs to pace Tioga’s five-hit attack, while Preshur doubled, scored one run, and had three RBI, and Nelson and Rink each singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs.

Weaver scored three runs in the win, while Palmer scored two runs, Haskins scored one run and had two RBI, Keene and Braunbeck each scored one run and drove in one run, and Wilson crossed the plate once.
