
OWEGO — Freshman Nick Slater and senior Frank Chapman rolled 600 series to lead Tioga to a 3-1 win over SVEC, while the Lady Eagles countered with a 3-1 win over the Lady Tigers here Tuesday afternoon in IAC bowling action at the Owego Bowl.
BOYS
Tioga 3, SVEC 1
Previously-unbeaten SVEC won the first game, but Tioga bounced back to win the next two games, and total pinfall in a 3-1 win.
The Eagles won the first game 959-810, but the Tigers won the next two by scores of 983-788 and 1,038-980 for a total-pineal victory of 2,831 to 2,727.
Slater led Tioga with a 645 series on games of 191, 234, and 220, while Chapman banged out a 638 on games of 139, 246, and 253.
Senior Brad Webb shot a 598 series, including a 216, in the win, while senior Gage Cain had a 537, junior Mason Green added a 413, and freshman Mason Hulbert tacked on a 220.
Tyler Dunham led SVEC with a 615, and Matt Finch added a 604.
Tioga improves to 9-7 on the season.
GIRLS
SVEC 3, Tioga 1
Tioga handed SVEC its first loss of the season in the first game, but the Lady Eagles responded with wins in the next two games for a 3-1 victory.
The Lady Tigers opened with a 693-641 win, the Lady Eagles answered with wins of 798-763, and 789-665 for a total-pineal victory of 2,228 to 2,121.
Junior Chloe Gillette led Tioga with a 482 series, and senior Caroline Chapman rolled a 478.
Sophomore Alicia Bennett added a 389 for the Lady Tigers, while junior Allie Creller had a 383, senior BobbiJo Tarbox had a 361, and freshman Kelsey Helmich tacked on a 336.
The Lady Tigers fall to 10-6 on the season.
Tioga returns to action Tuesday against O-M at the Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
