IAC BOYS SOCCER: NOTRE DAME BLANKS TIOGA, 4-0 (4 PHOTOS) (2023-09-22)

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. - Notre Dame scored four goals in the first half in a 4-0 win over Tioga here Thursday night in IAC boys soccer action.

"We went in with a good attitude knowing (Notre Dame’s) abilities," said Tioga coach Adam Layman. "We connected passes and communicated well. The boys played a good game.

"It’s another hard loss. but we won’t let it effect the rest of our season," Layman added.

Sebastian Capriotti came off the bench to score three goals in 10 minutes to give the Crusaders a 3-0 lead midway through the first half.

Guilherme Catherino added a goal late in the first half to provide the final margin.

Notre Dame had a 19-5 advantage in shots-on-goal, and an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.

Jake Browne recorded 15 saves in net for the Tigers, while Jackson Potter had five saves for his fourth shutout of the season.

Tioga, now 6-2-2, returns to action Monday when it hosts SVEC.
