NEW YORK STATE FOOTBALL: TIOGA REMAINS ATOP CLASS D RANKINGS; WAVERLY UP THREE SPOTS IN CLASS C (2023-09-22)

THE VALLEY — Tioga remains No. 1 in the Class D rankings, while Waverly moved up three spots in the Class C ranks in the most recent New York State Sportswriters Association rankings.

CLASS D
Tioga (3-0), winners of 30 in a row, remains atop the Class D rankings with Section VI’s Clymer-Sherman-Panama (3-0), Section II’s Warrensburg-Lake George-Bolton (3-0), Section VI’s Franklinville-Ellicotttville (3-0), and Section II’s Stillwater (3-0) ranked second through fifth, respectively.

Section IV’s Delhi (3-0) is ranked 9th in the state, and SVEC (3-0) is 10th. Walton (2-0) is an honorable mention.

CLASS C
Waverly, now 2-1, jumped up to 9th, from 12th, in the Class C rankings.

Section V’s Attica-Alexander (3-0) remains at the top of the Class C rankings with Section III’s Cazenovia (2-0), Section II’s Schuylerville (3-0), Section III’s Adirondack (3-0), and Section XI’s Babylon (2-0) ranked second through fifth, respectively.

Section IV’s Susquehanna Valley (2-0) is ranked 11th in Class C, and Chenango Forks (1-1) is 25th.
