
OWEGO - Junior Sara Bronson and sophomore Ava Hughes ran to top-10 finishes, leading Athens to a team title at the Owego Cross Country Invitational here at Hickories Park Saturday morning, while junior Harper Minaker, and senior Elizabeth Vaughn paced Waverly with top-10 runs.
Athens claimed the team title with 106 placement points, while North Penn-Mansfield was second at 114 points, Owego was third with 119 points, and Horseheads was fourth at 141 points.
Bronson finished third in a time of 20:02.4, and Hughes was ninth in 20:51.3, while sophomore Abby Burgess was 25th in 21:45.4.
Senior Thea Bentley finished 31st in a time of 22:15.1 for the Lady Wildcats, while senior Emily Henderson was 56th in 23:37.8, and junior Mary Rose Bertsch was 125th in 30:18.4.
Minaker finished sixth in a time of 20:47.0, and Vaughn placed eighth in a time of 20:49.9.
Sophomore Mackenzie Chamberlain was 21st in 21:34.9 for the Lady Wolverines, and freshman Taylor Sinsabaugh was 89th in 25:33.4.
Junior Brooke Delmage led Tioga in a time of 27:18.3, which was good for 109th, while senior Lexy Ward was 133rd in 31:10.5, and freshman Lacey Ward was 143rd in 22:44.9,

Trinity Mayo led the Waverly mods with a fourth-place finish in a time of 12:03, and Miah Correll was 20th in 13:53.
Ashley Fehrenbach finished 26th for Waverly in a time of 14:57, while Isabella Minaker was 27th in 14:58, and Maddison Harvey was 29th in 15:27.
