TIOGA CENTER — Seton Catholic got off to a quick start, and cruised to a 76-35 win over Tioga here Tuesday night in non-league girls basketball action.
The Saints raced out to a 23-9 lead after the first eight minutes, with junior Taliah Speer scoring all nine of Tioga’s points in the opening stanza.
Seton used a 15-9 run in the second quarter to extend the lead to 38-18 at the half.
The Saints put the game away with a 19-10 run in the third quarter to take a 57-28 lead into the final eight minutes.
Speer led Tioga with 12 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, six rebounds, and four steals, while sophomore Mia Hall scored 10 points, including two 3-pointers, and blocked three shots, and sophomore RaeAnne Feeko added six points, four rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots.
Senior Kaitlyn Vasey-Hunt hauled down six rebounds, while junior Christina Earley grabbed four boards, and Sadie Marshall chipped in with three rebounds.
Alexa Buck led Seton with 19 points, while Lucy Atkins scored 15 points, and Erin Derr added 14 points.
Tioga, now 0-2, hosts Candor Thursday.
