LEWISBURG — Junior Ethan Hicks registered four top-three finishes, including a win and two second-place finishes, to lead the Athens boys to a third-place finish here Saturday at the Kinney Invitational hosted at Bucknell University, while the Athens girls finished sixth.
BOYS
Ethan Hicks won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:53.29. He also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle, with freshman Eli Hicks placing seventh in 55:38, and junior Ronel Ankam eighth in 56.0 seconds.
Ethan Hicks teamed with Ankam, freshman Brayden Pettitt, and junior Ryan Gorman to place second in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:37.91.
Ethan and Eli Hicks teamed with Ankam and Gorman to finish third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:36.72, and the foursome of Eli Hicks, Gorman, Pettitt, and Ankam finished third in the 200-medley relay in a time of 1:55.77
Junior Josh Leonard placed third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:01.55, and Pettitt was fourth in the 200-yard IM in 2:09.53.
Gorman finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.76 seconds, while Eli Hicks was seventh in 25.23 seconds, and Leonard was eighth in 26.48 seconds.
GIRLS
Elizabeth Denlinger had the best finish of the day for the Wildcats, placing fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:03.15, while Evelyn Panek was seventh in 1:04.15, and sophomore Olivia Thompson was eighth in 1:04.32.
Denlinger, Panek, and Thompson teamed with Emily Marshall to finish fifth in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:12.8.
Denlinger, Panek, Thompson, and Grace Cobb finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:56.2.
Denlinger finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:17.95, and Grace Cobb was ninth in 2:22.48.
Panek finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in 27.17 seconds, and Marshall was 10th in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:25.68.
