IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: S-VE PULLS AWAY FROM TIOGA IN 50-26 WIN (19 PHOTOS) (2024-01-09)

SPENCER - Spencer-VanEtten took the lead early, and gradually pulled away in a 50-26 win over Tioga here Tuesday night in IAC South Small School Division girls basketball action.

The Panthers jumped out to a 12-6 lead after the first eight minutes, then outscored the Tigers, 9-7, in the second quarter to take a 21-13 lead into the halftime locker room.

S-VE used a 14-9 advantage in the third quarter to open up a 35-22 lead after three quarters, then put the game away with a 15-4 run in the fourth quarter.

Junior Taliah Speer led Tioga with 16 points, including five 3-poiners, and four rebounds, and sophomore RaeAnne Feeko added four points, and four rebounds

Senior Kaitlyn Vasey-Hunt hauled down eight rebounds for the Tigers, while sophomore Mia Hall had six rebounds, and three steals, and sophomores Emily Zwierlein and Raegan Foley each chipped in with four boards.

Tioga, now 0-11, travels to Marathon Friday.
