NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NEB BLOWS GAME OPEN IN SECOND HALF; TOPS SAYRE, 59-20 (9 PHOTOS) (2024-01-31)

ROME, Pa. — Northeast Bradford built a quick double-digit lead in the first quarter, then blew the game open in the second half en route to a 59-20 win over Sayre here Wednesday night in NTL Small School Division girls basketball action.
The Panther led 14-4 lead after the first eight minutes, then Leah Beebe drained a trio of 3-pointers in the second quarter in a 9-6 spurt that upped the lead to 23-10 at the half.
NEB used a 20-7 run to take a commanding 43-17 lead into the final eight minutes, and closed the game with a 16-3 blitz in the fourth quarter.
Senior Lizzy Shaw led Sayre with nine points on three 3-pointers, while junior Abbie McGaughey had seven points, four rebounds, and one blocked shot, sophomore Rylee Lantz, and freshman Payton Black each pulled down eight rebounds, and blocked one shot, and senior Meghan Flynn added two assists, and five steals.
Beebe led NEB with 18 points on six 3-pointers, while Emma Neuber added 13 points.
The Panthers knocked down 11 3-pointers in the win.
Sayre, now 0-19, hosts North Penn-Liberty Friday night.
