WAVERLY - Waverly 8th-grader Karis Hayes finished eighth, and Serenity Conklin was 11th here Saturday at the Section IV, Division 2 girls bowling state qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
Union Springs / Port Byron’s Bethany Jump rolled the high nine-game series (including three games at Class Sectionals) with a 1,947, while Candor’s Kaitlyn Floyd was second at 1,882.
The sixth and final qualifier for the Section IV team was Unadilla Valley / Norwich’s Brynn Grant with a 1,741.
Hayes rolled a 1,711 for the Wolverines. She had series of 592, including games of 216 and 203, and 551 on Saturday. She rolled a 565 at Class Sectionals.
Conklin, who shot a 608 at Class Sectionals, rolled series of 519, including a 213 in the first game, and 555, including a 202 in the third game, on Saturday.
Maine-Endwell won the Division 2 title with an 8,433, edging Unadilla Valley / Norwich (8,388) by just 45 pins.
