Valley Sports Report
NEWARK, N.J. — Waverly grad Kennedy Westbrook, a freshman on the Division I NJIT women’s soccer team, has started all four matches she’s played in this season, and played a full 90 minutes in all four contests.
On Sunday, Westbrook, a defender, took the first two shots of her collegiate career in a 3-0 win over Rider.
NJIT has won its last three games — all by shutout — to improve to 3-1-1.
The Highlander defense has allowed just one goal in five matches, and has not allowed a goal in 364—plus minutes of action.
NJIT returns to action Thursday at Wagner.
