TIOGA CENTER — Playing its third game in four days against three of the best teams in the IAC, Tioga dropped an 8-0 decision to SVEC here Friday evening in boys soccer action.
The Tigers, now 0-3, have played three teams coming off seasons in which they combined to post a 44-8-2 record.
Noah Banks scored four goals for the second game in a row to lead the Eagles to their second win in a row to start the season.
“The team did a much better job moving the ball tonight to find the open man,” said SVEC coach Jason Banks.
“In addition, our defensive line of (Tyler) Greeno, (Clayton) Bower, (Gavin) Bates and (Kyle) Jantz, along with the keeper (Sirron) Irvin, did a great job shutting down Tioga's attack,” added Banks.
Claas Huenecke had one goal, and four assists in the win.
SVEC had a 23-3 advantage in shots-on-goal, and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Davie VanDusen recorded 15 saves for the Tigers, and Irvin had two for the Eagles.
SVEC hosts Tioga Monday.
