THE VALLEY — Athens sophomore QB Connor Davidson continued his stellar play in the Wildcats’ upset win over Canton, while Waverly junior Mira Kittle continued breaking records in the pool in her opening performance of the season. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction “Athletes of the Week,” for the week ending Sept. 7.
ATHENS’ DAVIDSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Davidson accounted for all six of the Wildcats’ six TDs in their 48-42 win over Canton.
Davidson rushed for 202 yards, and four TDs on 34 carries, scoring on runs of 1, 31, 10, and 2 yards.
Davidson also completed 9 of 17 passes for 183 yards, and two TDs. His TD passes covered 35 and 25 yards.

WAVERLY’S KITTLE NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Kittle was a four-time winner for Waverly to help the Wolverines to a third-place finish in their Wolverine Invite.
In her only individual event of the day, Kittle set a school record, and qualified for States in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in a 58.57 seconds.
Kittle also swam on three first-place relays, two of which — the 200 medley and 200 freestyle — broke school records and qualified for States. The third — the 400 free — missed the school record by two-tenths of a second.
