THE VALLEY — Basketball games at Waverly and Sayre, and Tioga on the road at Newark Valley in a key divisional wrestling match headline Wednesday's action.

WRESTLING
Tioga (2-0 overall, 1-0 IAC Large) at Newark Valley (3-0, 1-0), 6 p.m.
: The Tigers topped Marathon, 63-6, in its last dual on Dec. 18, while the Cardinals beat Trumansburg, 69-6, the same night.

Senior Trevor Middendorf (124 pounds) has been Newark Valley's top grappler to this point in the season with a 15-0 record. He could match up against two-time state place-finisher junior Logan Bellis, who is 13-7 for the Tigers this season.

Three-time state place-finisher Jayden Duncanson has posted an 18-2 record for the Tigers, and could face Newark Valley junior Logan Rhodes (18-7).

The Tigers have several other wrestlers with winning records, including returning state place-finishers sophomore Declan McKee (13-3 at 101 pounds) and junior Kadin Cole (11-3 at 116), as well as freshmen Drake Ulrich (11-3 at 101), Mark McCane (13-6 at 285), Tate MaCauley (11-7 at 285), sophomore James Howey (9-7 at 190), and 8th-grader Jackson Parker (5-4 at 108).

The Cardinals have several other wrestlers with winning records, including junior Logan Woodlin (17-5 at 160 pounds), junior Titus Callahan (16-5 at 190), junior Caden Creeley (13-3 at 160), junior Marcos Escalante (14-5 at 145), senior Gabe Merrill (13-4 at 170),  senior Austin DeBolt (8-6 at 285), and freshman Kenny Slater (8-8 at 101).

BOYS BASKETBALL
Chenango Forks (3-5 overall, 0-3 STAC Central) at Waverly (5-3, 2-1), 5:30 p.m. JV start:
The Wolverines are coming off an 80-37 non-league win over Addison Monday, while the Blue Devils dropped a 75-33 decision at Norwich.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Cowanesque Valley (3-5) at Sayre (1-7), 6 p.m. (Varsity only):
The Redskins are coming off a 63-21 loss at Wyalusing Monday, while the Indians dropped a 34-30 decision at Oswayo Valley Saturday.

Athens (6-3) at NP-Mansfield (5-5), 6 p.m. JV start: The Wildcats are coming off a 51-32 win over North Penn-Liberty Saturday, while the Tigers topped Canton, 41-35, Monday.
