WAVERLY — Eighth-grader Colten Santalucia banged out a career-high series to lead the Waverly boys in a sweep of Chenango Valley here Wednesday afternoon at the Valley Bowling Center, while Serenity Conklin led a balanced Lady Wolverines to a sweep as well.
BOYS
Waverly 5, Chenango Valley 0
Santalucia shot an impressive 762 series on games of 247, 257, and 258 to pace the Wolverines.
Waverly won the first game 1,081-925, and followed it up with wins of 1,086-972, and 1,024-856 for a total pinfall count of 3,191 to 2,753.
Junior Derek Johnson rolled a 696 series on games of 212, 246, and 238, while junior Tristan Campbell shot a 612 on games of 245, 198, and 169, Maison Apgar had a 575, including a 200 in the first game, and senior Dom Wood added a 546 series.
Nate Adams led CV with a 607 series.
GIRLS
Waverly 5, Chenango Valley 0
The Wolverines posted a total-pinfall win of 2,529 to 1,665 over the short-handed Warriors, who had just four bowlers.
Conklin rolled a 581 series, including a 205 in the third game, while Karis Hayes shot a 536, and Ariel Houseknecht had a 533.
Rylie Witman added a 451 in the win, and Aby Apgar tacked on a 427.
Abby Herceg led CV with a 560 series.
JV BOYS
Griffin Walter shot a 570, including games of 216 and 228, to lead the Waverly JVs to a sweep of CV.
Camden Leary had a 519 for Waverly, and Nate Andrews-Larson added a 516, including a 211 in the first game.
