THE VALLEY — Waverly senior Addison Westbrook set a school record for 3-pointers in a game, while Tioga freshman Kyah Nelson and junior Jayden Duncanson were dominant on the mats. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Jan. 4.

Westbrook poured in 27 points on a school-record nine 3-pointers Saturday in Waverly's 63-52 win over Sidney.
Westbrook, who knocked down five 3-pointers in the third quarter, also had six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Nelson was 5-0, including four first-period pins, on her way to the 165-pound title at the Stenglein-Davis Tournament in Colonie, N.Y.
In pool action, Nelson scored falls in 75 and 60 seconds, and needed just 16 seconds in the quarterfinals.
After a 10-0 technical fall win in the semifinals, Nelson finished off the tournament with a fall in 1:16 in the finals.

TIOGA'S DUNCANSON NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETES OF THE WEEK"
Duncanson was 4-0 — all via falls, including three first-period pins — to win the 138-pound title at the Saratoga Tournament.
Duncanson won his first two matches in 66 seconds and 1:32, then scored a fall in 5:52 in the semifinals.
He needed just 1:42 in the finals to claim the title.
