STAC BOWLING: JOHNSON POWERS WAVERLY TO SWEEP OF WINDSOR; LADY WOVERINES FALL, 4-1 (2025-01-15)

WAVERLY — Junior Derek Johnson rolled his third 700 series in four matches to lead Waverly to a sweep of Windsor here Wednesday afternoon, while the Lady Wolverines dropped a 4-1 decision in STAC bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

BOYS
Waverly 5, Windsor 0

Waverly opened the series with a 1,089-766 win in the first game, and followed it up with wins of 1,040-882, and 936-839 for a total-pinfall win of 3,065 to 2,487.

Johnson banged out a 709 series on games of 239, 244, and 225, while 8th-grader Colten Santalucia rolled a 655 series on games of 226, 238, and 191.

Senior Dom Wood shot a 576, including a 228 in the first game, for the Wolverines, while junior Tristan Campbell added a 570, including a 203, and Maison Apgar tacked on a 555, including a 213.

Sawyer Beeman led Windsor with a 572 series.

GIRLS
Windsor 4, Waverly 1

Windsor won the first game 864-827, but Waverly responded with an 820-726 win in the second game. The Black Knights closed out the series with an 880-818 win for a five-pin win in total-pinfall — 2,470 to 2,465.

Serenity Conklin led Waverly with a 555 series, including a 208, while Ariel Houseknecht shot a 531, and Karis Hayes had a 514.

Rylie Witman added a 443 for Waverly, and Aby Apgar tacked on a 422.

Aubriana Tyler led Windsor with a match-high 645 series.

Waverly returns to action Jan. 22 when it hosts Union-Endicott.
