NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: KEMP SPARKS ATHENS IN 54-35 WIN OVER WELLSBORO (2025-01-17)

WELLSBORO — Freshman Allison Kemp sparked Athens to a fast start in a 54-35 win over Wellsboro here Friday night in NTL Large School girls basketball action.
Kemp pumped in 11 points, including a trio of 3-pointers, and senior Addy Wheeler added six points as the Wildcats raced out to a 19-3 lead after the opening stanza.
Wheeler scored six more points in the second quarter, and sophomore McKenna Jarvis and Kemp added five points apiece to fuel an 18-9 run that stretched Athens' lead to 37-12 at the half.
Kemp led Athens with a career-high 17 points, including four 3-pointers, and three rebounds, and Wheeler narrowly missed a triple-double with 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and 10 steals.
Jarvis scored 11 points in the win, while senior Sara Bronson had nine points and four steals, and freshman Alissa Vough grabbed three rebounds.
Athens, now 8-5, returns to action Tuesday at Canton.
JV: Wellsboro 20, Athens 16 (Kemp-9).
