IAC BOWLING: SLATER, LaFRITZ LEAD TIOGA BOYS, GIRLS TO 3-1 WINS OVER CANDOR (2025-01-21)

WAVERLY — Nick Slater and Selena LaFritz led the Tioga boys and girls to 3-1 wins over division rivals Candor here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Small School bowling action.

BOYS
Tioga 3, Candor 1
Slater banged out a 634 series on games of 226, 213, and 195 to lead the Tigers.

Tioga won the first game 945-783, and followed it up for a 956-823 win in the second game. Candor salvaged the third game with an 858-831, but the Tigers won the total-pinfall point by a count of 2,732 to 2,464.

Charles Holmes shot a 597 for the Tigers, including games of 214 and 217, while Austin Mumbuulo rolled a 552, and Garrett Godfrey had a 462.

James Luther added a 427 in the win, and Markel Watkins tacked on a 418 series.

Kody Floyd led Candor with a 577 series.

GIRLS
Tioga 3, Candor 1
LaFritz shot a 545 series, including games of 182 and 204, and Kelsey Helmich rolled a 515 series to lead the Tigers to a 3-1 win.

The Coyotes pulled out a 748-736 win in the first game, but Tioga answered with wins of 714-712 and 790-703 for a total-pinfall win of 2,240 to 2,163.

Liberty Magner shot a 438 for Tioga, while Sabrina Ellis added a 378, and Katie Bleiler tacked on a 363.

Calli Marsh led Candor with a 568 series, including a 236 in the first game.

Tioga returns to action Friday when it hosts Sidney.
