STAC BOWLING: WAVERLY BOYS SWEEP U-E; LADY WOLVERINES FALL, 4-1 (2025-01-22)

WAVERLY — Junior Derek Johnson rolled a 700 series, and his four teammates shot 600 series in the Waverly boys sweep of Union-Endicott, while the Lady Wolverines dropped a 4-1 decision here Wednesday afternoon in STAC bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

BOYS
Waverly 5, U-E 0

The Wolverines improve to 33-2 on the season with a 3,259 to 3,072 total-pinfall win.

Waverly won the first game 1,066-977, and followed it up with wins of 1,108-1,082, and 1,085-1,013.

Johnson banged out a 725 on games of 236, 225, and 264, while Maison Apgar shot a 648 on games of 193, 236, and 219, and senior Dom Wood rolled a 646 on games of 174, 225, and 247.

Junior Tristan Campbell added a 639 for the Wolverines on games of 276, 211, and 152, and 8th-grader Colten Santalucia tacked on a 601 on games of 187, 211, and 203.

A.J. Walker led U-E with a match-high 731 series, and  Gannon Decker had a 649.

GIRLS
U-E 4, Waverly 1

Waverly rolled one of its best series of the season, but a strong U-E team posted a 4-1 win.

U-E opened with an 865-805 win, and followed it up with a 834-795 win. The Wolverines salvaged the third game, 957-953, but the Tigers won the two-point total pinfall by a count of 2,652 and 2,557.

Ariel Houseknecht led Waverly with a 555 series, while Serenity Conklin shot a 546, including a 223 in the third game, and Karis Hayes had a 521, including a 214 in the third game.

Rylie Witman added a 471 for the Wolverines, and Aby Apgar tacked on a 464.

Alexis Coney led U-E with a 604 series, and Brooke Patterson shot a 592.
