NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WHEELER'S CAREER NIGHT LEADS ATHENS TO 47-24 WIN OVER TRUMANSBURG (2025-01-27)

ATHENS — Senior Addy Wheeler posted a double-double, including a career-high 25 points, to lead Athens to a 47-24 win over Trumansburg here Monday night in non-league girls basketball action.

Wheeler scored four points in the opening stanza to help the Wildcats to a 9-6 lead.

Wheeler pumped in 10 points, including a 3-pointer, in the second quarter and senior Sara Bronson added a 3-pointer to fuel a 17-5 run that gave the Wildcats a 26-12 lead at the half.

Wheeler added 10 more points, and freshman Allison Kemp canned a 3-pointer and scored five points in a 16-5 third-quarter run that extended the lead to 42-17.

Wheeler hauled down 13 rebounds and dished out six assists, to go along with her 25 points, while Kemp scored nine points, and Bronson had seven points and six steals.

Sophomore McKenna Jarvis had six points and seven rebounds in the win, and senior Kelsie Noel added four rebounds.

Athens, now 11-5, returns to action Tuesday at Sayre in a varsity-only, 6 p.m. start.
