SAYRE — Northeast Bradford scored the first 15 points of the game, and rolled to a 54-8 win over Sayre here Monday night in NTL Small School Division girls basketball action.
The Panthers, who made their first seven shots of the game, led 15-0 just 2 1/2 minutes into the game.
Junior Rylee Lantz's free throw with 3:30 minutes left in the first quarter put the Redskins on the board, and closed the gap to 15-1.
The Panthers scored the final seven points of the opening stanza, then scored the first five of the second quarter, before Lantz broke the run with a short jumper to make it 27-3 with 6:36 remaining in the first half.
NEB closed the run with an 8-0 run to make it 35-3 at the half.
The Panthers used a 17-1 run in the third quarter, with Sayre's only point on a free throw by senior Abbie McGaughey, to take a 52-4 lead into the final eight minutes.
Sayre out scored NEB, 4-2, in the fourth quarter.
Lantz led Sayre with five points, six rebounds, three steals, and one blocked shot, and McGaughey added three points and seven rebounds.
Lillie Maynard led NEB with 14 points, six boards, six steals, and three assists, while Becca VandeMark had 10 points, six assists, and five steals, Lilah Hughes added 10 points, four boards, and three assists, and Kara Dughi netted nine points.
Sayre, now 2-15, returns to action Tuesday at Cowanesque Valley.
