VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: ATHENS' WHEELER, HICKS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (2025-02-05)

THE VALLEY — Athens seniors Addy Wheeler and Ethan Hicks both had big weeks to help their teams to multiple wins. They are the VSR / Bishop Brothers Construction "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending Feb. 1.

ATHENS' WHEELER NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Wheeler averaged 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 6 steals, and 1 block per game in helping the Wildcats to a 3-1 mark on the week.

Wheeler scored a career-high 25 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and dished out six assists in a 47-24 win over Trumansburg.

Wheeler had 15 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and nine steals in a 60-13 win over Sayre.

She had six points, five rebounds, six assists, four steals, and two blocked shots in a 47-37 loss to Towanda.

And, Wheeler led Athens with 20 points, three rebounds, three assists, and nine steals in a 56-26 win over Wellsboro.

HICKS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Hicks recorded seven first-place finishes in a pair of Wildcat wins.

Hicks was a triple-winner, including in the 500-yard freestyle, in a 69-16 win over Wellsboro.

Earlier in the week, Hicks won four events, including the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke, in a 114-41 win over Lewisburg.
