
WAVERLY — Tioga has three tops seeds here at Saturday's Section IV Girls Wrestling Championships, while Waverly has a pair of 2-seeds and three 3-seeds as more than 130 wrestlers vie to reach the first NYSPHSSA Championships at the MVP Arena on Feb. 27
The winner in each weight class automatically qualifies for States, plus Section IV will have a second automatic qualifier at 107, 114, 120, 126, 132, 152, 165, 185, and 235 pounds.
Tioga senior Kali Bailey (20-6) is the top seed at 132 pounds, and Tioga sophomore Amelia Toomey (20-3) is the top seed at 145 pounds.
Freshman Kyah Nelson (26-3), who wrestled the majority of her matches this season at 165 pounds, is the top seed at 185 pounds.
Waverly 8th-grader Gianna Rylott 15-6 is second seed at 94 pounds, and Waverly junior Elona Holmes (13-6) is the second seed at 165 pounds.
Waverly freshman Kennadie Cochrane (22-7) is the third seed at 107 pounds, and Tioga junior Mia Hall (9-13) is unseeded.
Waverly junior Emma Vanderhoof (20-8) is the third seed at 120 pounds, and Tioga 8th-grader Grace Howey (4-10) is unseeded.
Waverly 8th-grader Gianna Zieniuk (16-11) is the third seed at 152 pounds.
Tioga sophomore Marcy Moniz (20-12) is the fourth seed at 138 pounds, while Waverly sophomore Abi Ready (15-17) is the fifth seed, and Tioga freshman Cora Szymanski (10-16) is the sixth seed.
Tioga junior RaeAnne Feeko (14-8) is the fifth seed at 126 pounds, and Waverly freshman Faith Hyjek (2-17) is unseeded.
Waverly sophomore Abby Sickler (17-12) is the eighth seed at 114 pounds, and Tioga junior Ally Chamberlain (18-13) is unseeded.
Tioga junior Lilly Mezzatesta (12-13) is unseeded at 235 pounds, and Waverly senior Savannah Savercool (6-16) is also unseeded.
Action begins Saturday at 10 a.m.
