Valley Sports ReportATHENS — The Athens girls are the sixth seed, and will open the District 4, Class 4A basketball playoffs on the road Thursday.
Athens (15-7) will travel to third-seeded Jersey Shore (15-6) Thursday for a 7 p.m. start. The winner will face the winner of the game between second-seeded Lewisburg (17-5) and seventh-seeded Milton (13-9).
On the top of the bracket, top-seeded Central Columbia (19-3) hosts eighth-seeded Danville (5-17), and fourth-seeded Shamokin (15-7) hosts fifth-seeded Selinsgrove (13-9).
The semifinals will be held on a date to be announced, and at sites to be determined.
